Flying high...

Ever since the movie Top Gun came out in 1986, I have been in love with Military Jets.  If you would of asked me in fourth grade what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would of said a Navy Pilot.  I have such great respect and admiration for our Military, even thought about joining the Army at one point, but then met Steve and life went in a different direction for me.  Whenever the Air Show comes our way I love to go, especially when the Blue Angels are there to perform.  The kids and Steve enjoy it very much as well, so last weekend we packed a cooler, grabbed some chairs and headed to Rhode Island.  It was super busy and a bit too chilly for my taste, but we all had a great time.

I loved walking around with my camera and capturing different images, I didn't bring a long lens like last time so I don't have close shots of the jets, there was so much to see close up, so I was happy I had a smaller lens and could capture so many great images.

Another school year has come and gone...

As of 1:05 today the school year is officially over!  Tyler has had a great year in 2nd grade and Juliana has had a fabulous year in 4th grade.  Every year it's hard to believe how big they are getting, yet I love to watch them grow and change.

First day of school this year:

Our very own gymnast!

I often think Tyler came jumping or flipping into the world.  As said before, he loves to run, jump, flip, and do just about anything else that makes him move fast and fly in the air.  He has been asking for ages to take a gymnastics class and I finally enrolled him 4 weeks before the class ended for the season.  From the first class he was in love with it.  I was worried he wouldn't like it, because his instruction was very firm and was sure to make the kids do things exactly like they were supposed to.  But that did not deter Ty at all, just made him work harder.  Parents were allowed in the gym on the last day so I was able to snap a few pictures.  He will be taking classes over the summer too, starting in July.

I definitely think he's found his calling.

A graduation....

In four short days from now Juliana will no longer be an elementary school student, she will officially be a middle schooler!  It's bitter sweet for me, on one hand I love watching her grow, change, and mature into the beautiful young lady she has become.  On the other hand it's sad to see my little girl growing up so quickly, it seems like only yesterday I brought her home swaddled tight from the hospital.  I couldn't be prouder of the person she is, she is kind, loving, caring, and has a heart of gold.  She is never mean to anyone (other then her brother, but what are you going to do).  She is beautiful on the inside and out.  She had a graduation the other day at school, her class sang and spoke about their memories at Burr Elementary School.  Then they were all given certificates and a class picture of the entire fourth grade.

So now it's on to the next chapter in her life, a chapter full of so much more growing and changes.  But first, we have an entire summer vacation to spend exploring, laughing, and relaxing!

A wedding by the pond.

On June 4th my Dad got married.  The kids were super excited to be part of the day.  It was down at my fathers pond and they were both part of the ceremony.  Juliana was a bridesmaid along with my niece Erin.  Tyler was the best man and ring burier (that's what Ty called it).  Juliana and Erin looked beautiful and they were so cute, they basically hung out with each other all day and stayed clear of the grown ups, I remember doing the same thing with my cousins and it just made me giggle.

It was a fun day that the kids will always remember being part of.

Melon head...

It's been documented by doctors that Steve has a large head.  I've been there when the doctors have measured it, and they always say, "wow".  The other night before cutting a watermelon I drew a picture of him on it (because I am odd and enjoy drawing on fruit).  Anyhow, we decided to take a picture of him next to it for comparison...  pretty close in size don't you think.

The fun didn't stop there, it was time to involve the children.  I present to you, Captain Melon:

Not to be outdone by the Glamourous Melon:

There are no pictures of me with said melon... but I did enjoy eating it very much!
