I am a Mom of two, a wife, and a photographer. I try to find happiness in the simple things in life, but I also love the big things. Sometimes I look at life through a lens, sometimes through Mom eyes, sometimes through wife eyes, and sometimes through my own opinionated eyes. My thoughts are my own, my ideas are my own, my photos are my own. Sharing these is something I've decided to do here.

On to the next year!
Time sure does fly! How did I already live 36 years? I have had my drivers license for 20 years. I graduated high school 18 years ago. I met my husband 15 years ago. I got my ears pierced 26 years ago. I have been wearing glasses for for 24 years. I learned to read 31 years ago. I went to my first New Kids On The Block concert 23 years ago. I have been a mother for 10 years. I got my first cell phone 16 years ago. I got my first job 21 years ago. I moved out of my parents house 18 years ago.... and so on and so on!
My birthday was last week, it amazed me that I am no longer excited about it. I am of course always happy to know that I've made it another year, but I am also scared of getting older. I recently had a friend that is 40 say she's halfway to death. Amazing when you think about it, but if I am lucky enough to live to 80, I've already almost lived half my life. I've know far too many people that have been taken from this earth far too young, and it definitely makes me thankful for my 36 years and appreciate every day that I am given (well almost every day, there are those hormonal days where nothing seems to go in my favor that I may loose site of the big picture).
For my birthday this year I kept it low key (okay every year is low key, but I guess that's how I like it). I took the kids to school and then headed off to do a little shopping for myself. Steve met me for lunch and then I headed home for a little quiet time before the kids got home. I made dinner and had picked up some cupcakes earlier in the day. The kids got me gifts that they picked out themselves (Tyler gave me a stuffed bunny and a box of tissues shaped like a kiwi, and Juliana got me a pink squishy ball that I have to pick up and squeeze every time we walk by it in a store).
All in all a good day and a great year I was able to celebrate.
