Icicles oh my...

With all the snow this winter we've also gotten a lot of icicles.  The kids love to break them and pretend they are popsicles.  I like to take pictures of them.

Flashback

I was looking through some old pictures today with tears in my eyes.  It's amazing how fast kids grow up and how fast time goes by.  I have spent just about every waking moment with my kids (except when they are in school) and especially when they were younger.  I'll never look back and wish I spent more time with them.  Here is a picture I found from May 2005, I am going to try to post some flashback pictures every week, someday I want my kids to have this blog to look back on and have their memories preserved.

AGAIN!!!

I can't even count how much school the kids have missed this winter.  This week alone they had a delayed start on Tuesday, an early dismissal on Wednesday, and no school today!  Anyway, it seemed like a perfect time to take some updated pictures of them.  I love so many I couldn't choose which to show, so there will be many...

Yet another weather day off from school...

I feel like my kids never go to school.  This school year has been insane.  It all started at the beginning of the year when the afternoon before the first day of school, the school flooded!  They didn't start until the following week.  Now we've had such horrible weather this winter they keep getting days off.  It's not going to be fun sending them off to school all summer, and frankly we are all getting bored cooped up all the time.  Today the kids never got out of their pajamas and spent most of the day on the couch (they even had their lunch there).  They watched a movie, tv, and played wii most of the day.

After hours and hours of this I thought we should put on our creative hats and do something together.  Since Valentines Day is right around the corner and we don't have any decorations, we made one.

It was a nice relaxing day ending in creativity.  Lets just hope this is the last snow day for awhile!

Just a little... I mean A LOT of snow...

Yesterday was a snow day (actually today is a snow day for the kids too, since there was too much to clean up in one day the schools were closed again).  It started snowing Tuesday night and didn't finish until Wednesday night.  All I can see is white, it's actually kind of neat driving down my street, it's like being in a tunnel the snow is so high on either side of the road.  The kids attempted to play in it yesterday at the height of the storm.  The snow was so deep it took a lot of physical effort for them to go anywhere, but they still had a some fun.

The snow is deep enough that they can just go sledding right out our backdoor down the steps!

And finally, we had our driveway plowed this morning.  Check out the pile of snow on the edge now...  there is a six foot fence on the side of it...

A little brag from me...

I volunteer in both Juliana and Tyler's classrooms every week.  Not only do they love having me in the classroom, it gives me an opportunity to see how they behave in the classroom.  I've never had any complaints or concerns about Juliana's behavior, and frankly at this point I would be shocked to have any negative feedback about her.  But kids are kids and they are only human, so I am sure someday she may do something out of character, and that's okay.  Now onto my little brag, today her teacher told me that if every kid could be as happy and positive as Juliana the world would be a better place.  Then she went on to say that Juliana brightens everyday for her and that she just loves her.  How can a parent not be proud of that!  Okay, my little brag is over... back to your regularly scheduled blogging.
